My first cuckoo call of the summer.

Thoughts on the word ‘liminal’, and a wonderful few minutes on the patio.

Greenflies and enterprising jackdaws.

A song thrush still living in the 1940s.

First swift of the summer.

Deer, warblers, and lots of midges.

A persistent song thrush.

Bluebells and a lapwing.

Testosterone-pumped chaffinches are at it again!

No lapwings!

Logging the dawn chorus.

Gunshots echoing around the valley.
