Nature Book Reader

My recommendations for some top nature reading have been included in the updated Caught by the River Nature Book Reader webzine.

Nature Book Reader

Those awfully nice chaps at Caught by the River have updated their Nature Book Reader webzine. It contains nature book recommendations from loads of people who simply love nature books. There are some top recommendations in there.

The latest update includes my own recommendation of Kathleen Jamie’s wonderful books Findings and Sightlines, which I re-read every September without fail. If you haven’t read these books, you should. In fact, you should order them right now.

(You can thank me later.)

On the Moor

This is a lovely book. I really enjoyed it—partly, I suspect, because I have a similar sense of humour to that of the author and also because I am generally curious about life. [...] The author is good at explanations. I like that. Eclectic—that’s what this book is. And rambling—in a good way (after all, these are walks). I liked it. I hope Richard Carter is writing another volume of his thoughts. I’ll buy it.
